After the ad form: what to expect once you have handed over your number
A call or text with a ballpark number usually follows. These ads mostly launch a Meta instant form instead of a website, which means the advertiser holds your contact details before you know anything about it. Use the time before they ring.
01
A few questions, then your phone number
Expect three to five short questions (staff, years of records, where you are) and then they want a phone number. A few offer to send the quote by text. Full website calculators ask much the same, and still call the result a rough guide.
02
Find out who you just spoke to
Whoever runs the ad may not be the buyer at all. From September to mid-October 2026, dozens of new pages began advertising on Meta, mostly brokers. Meta's Ad Library lists each page's live ads and their start dates.
Look for a legal company name, a real website and named people. Our list of buyers we rank is a quick cross-check.
03
What to say when they call
- Share your numbers: headcount, years and systems
- Keep files, logins and samples to yourself on the first call
- Ask for the company name, website and a written description of the offer
- Ask which AI labs would receive the data
- Ask how they are paid and whether you would pay anything (you should not)
You will probably hear a range lifted from the ad, often $100K to $2M+, and that is only the advertiser's word. A genuine figure arrives after the buyer reviews scrubbed samples, and everything should be agreed in writing before data moves.
FAQ
Questions, answered
I sent the form. What comes next?
Normally a phone call or text with a ballpark range, sometimes after just a couple of questions.
Why did the ad open a form inside Facebook?
Meta instant forms are fast for advertisers and keep you on the platform. They also give you nothing to read first.
Am I committed to anything?
No. A form is not a contract. Nothing should move until you sign a written agreement.
