Ventra review: what sellers actually get

Ventra's ads stress that owners license rather than sell and keep their business. The website frames $100K to $2M as possible deal sizes, with no guarantee. It quotes 3 to 7 days for an offer and usually Net 30 or 60 for payment.

It now takes companies in the UK and Canada as well as the US.

Some buyers pay us a referral fee. It never changes your price or our score. How we make money.

What we like

  • Brings offers from several buyers, not just one
  • Publishes a detailed notice on what its browser extension reads
  • No fee to owners today

Watch for

  • Terms put nearly all data risk on the owner
  • Browser extension reads and can screenshot the tools you pick
  • Two pages describe its referral fee differently

02

Who Ventra buys from

Ventra wants 30+ full-time staff in the US, UK or Canada, three or more years in business, and work that runs through software such as email, a CRM, tickets, docs or an ERP. It needs an owner or executive who can sign.

The industries it lists include construction and trades, home services, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, logistics, property management, agencies, staffing and call centers, and software and IT services. For now it turns away accounting, financial services, healthcare and legal firms.

03

What Ventra pays

The published range is $100K to $2M as potential deals. Its partner page adds that one lab closed 50 deals in a single week at $100,000 to $2 million each. That is Ventra's statement, and no lab is named.

In a call reported by other reviewers, Ventra described operational data as usually bringing $12,000 to $15,000 per employee and said prices had fallen about 20% in a month. Treat that as a conversation, not a quote.

04

The contract terms

Read every clause. A separate signed Data Agreement governs any license. If you give a buyer direct access to your systems, the terms say that relationship is yours alone and Ventra is not responsible for how the buyer secures, uses or trains on the data. Ventra also has no duty to get data deleted from a buyer or a model unless your Data Agreement says so.

Disputes go to individual arbitration with a class action waiver, unless you opt out within 30 days. Fees to owners are zero today but may be introduced with notice.

The browser extension measures how much data sits in the tools you pick. It opens them in tabs using your logged-in accounts, reads page text, may take screenshots, sends that content to Ventra and its AI providers, and can run AI-written scripts to count records. Ventra says it is built to be read-only and that it does not train models on what the extension reads.

05

Ventra's referral program

Ventra's main partner page pays referrers 50% of what Ventra makes on each company that signs, plus 10% on a second tier. A separate landing page advertises a flat $10,000 plus $5,000 instead. Fees are paid after the buyer pays Ventra, and Ventra can change rates on any deal not yet paid.

We are in this program. The fee comes from Ventra and does not change your price.

06

What Ventra offers

Ventra Holdings LLC is a Dallas company that supplies AI labs with three things: expert feedback, licensed company data and robotics data. For business owners, the company data line is the one that matters, and its terms call it Ventra's current focus. Ventra's pitch is that it takes your data to several AI labs and their data partners and brings back the best offer it finds.

07

Is Ventra a fit for your company?

Ventra suits a company of 30+ desk-based staff in the US, UK or Canada, outside the excluded industries, that wants a broker to shop its data to several labs. Confirm in writing that you pay no fee, and get the buyer's contract before you install anything.

08

Six checks before you send Ventra anything

We run the same checks on every buyer we rank. They take an afternoon and they protect the one thing you cannot take back: the copy of your records.

  • Find the legal entity. A registered company name, an address and at least one named person. A Facebook form alone is not enough.
  • Get the offer and the contract in writing before any export. A sample agreement tells you more than a sales call.
  • Ask who strips personal data, how, and when. You should approve the method and see a sample before anything leaves your systems.
  • Ask where the data goes. Which AI companies receive it, whether you are told, and whether it can be resold.
  • Ask how everyone is paid. By you, by the buyer, or out of your deal. Referral fees are normal; hidden ones are not.
  • Get a second quote. Terms from at least one other buyer is the fastest way to know if an offer is fair.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does Ventra charge a fee?

Its terms say no fee to use the service today, with fees possible later after notice. Its referral page says the referrer's fee comes from Ventra, not from the owner.

Which industries does Ventra turn away?

Legal, healthcare, financial services and accounting, for now.

Does Ventra take companies outside the US?

Yes. Its company pages now accept firms in the US, UK and Canada. One partner landing page also lists Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

What does Ventra's browser extension do?

It opens the tools you select in your own browser, reads page text and figures, may take screenshots, and sends that to Ventra and its AI providers to count your records. You review results before saving them. Ask whether you need it at all before installing.

Who is behind Ventra?

Ventra Holdings LLC, a Texas company at 539 W. Commerce St in Dallas. Its earlier pages named founder Mike Black and said it grew out of Talent Stream Group, a recruiting company that supplied experts to AI labs. The pages we checked in late October list no team.
