Grepped review: what sellers actually get

Grepped states no minimum headcount and lists industries from accounting and legal work to construction, logistics, manufacturing and software. Its referral page singles out construction, manufacturing, logistics, professional services, healthcare and finance, and says more years of history is better.

The first estimate uses only team size, years in business and revenue. The final figure, per the site, turns on which sources, how much, how good and on what access terms. A note left in the site's own code calls the estimator intentionally generous, above all for companies over 100 people.

The homepage pitches up to six figures per workspace. Payment, by Grepped's account, lands within 7 days once your data passes its review.

Grepped can only read, and only what you approve. Any system, folder or type of record can be excluded. It also asks that you share only what you are entitled to, because supplier and customer contracts may restrict use.

Its security page is frank that no de-identification method is perfect, and suggests leaving out any source you cannot risk sharing in any form. Find out if the license is exclusive, how long Grepped keeps the processed version, and who carries the risk if personal data gets through.

Grepped pays referrers 10% of what the owner receives, capped at $100K, paid when the owner is paid. The fee comes out of Grepped's share. Its referral terms also stop referrers from helping the owner sell elsewhere for 12 months after the terms end, so a referrer sending you to Grepped may not show you other buyers. A separate Grepped Partners program, by application only, offers introducers a 50/50 split of Grepped's margin on a deal.

Grepped AI is a young San Francisco company that buys de-identified copies of business records and licenses them to AI labs and research teams. It has grown from a single business intake into a small marketplace, where owners can also list codebases, datasets and RL environments. It publishes no funding, no customers and no completed deals.

Good for companies of every size that want close control of what leaves. Treat the first number as a rough opening figure.

We run the same checks on every buyer we rank. They take an afternoon and they protect the one thing you cannot take back: the copy of your records.

• Find the legal entity. A registered company name, an address and at least one named person. A Facebook form alone is not enough.
• Get the offer and the contract in writing before any export. A sample agreement tells you more than a sales call.
• Ask who strips personal data, how, and when. You should approve the method and see a sample before anything leaves your systems.
• Ask where the data goes. Which AI companies receive it, whether you are told, and whether it can be resold.
• Ask how everyone is paid. By you, by the buyer, or out of your deal. Referral fees are normal; hidden ones are not.
• Get a second quote. Terms from at least one other buyer is the fastest way to know if an offer is fair.
